I'd started this blog to reveal the facts behind the attractive ads published by those so called vendors of all kinds of data entry projects and share with you the essential knowledge to help you get through the ongoing projects.
It may take some time to post all the data, step by step, covering all aspects (data entry, conversion, quality checking) through different posts. Just click on the follow this blog publicly and be notified through mail when ever I publish a new post.

You can use this blog as a right platform to address your grievances, problems you had faced, how you have been cheated, denied billing and even you can upload your past works databases into my pool so that they can be cross checked with the new sing ups. At most cases, same slots of works will be outsourced to different persons at different time slots.
Actually, I had worked out on approximately, 45 projects. But, I had second thoughts to publish them. For this little work published on 2 projects too, I am getting a lot of criticism for and against it. I am receiving unwanted, blackmailing and threating calls too. All that I wanted to do is to save a few thousand from the trap of fake data entry vendors. I would like to tell you one thing. What ever the project name and kind of work may be, each and every project with an upfront payment if fake. But, still you can sign up these projects with 3 precautions:
1. Opt for a vendor, who is in your home town, or near by, or at least with in your state. Then, visit his office and ask him to provide you with a few centers as reference. Every one will give you a few references. But, in most cases they will give you only fresh n new centers. You shall ask them to give you only a few centers that were running for more than six months. What does it means? If a center is running for past few months, that means they were getting bills regularly. Otherwise, they can't pay employees salaries and other running expenses from their pocket. Also, be sure to cross check with the centers you visit, whether they had signed up from this vendor or not. So, if he is paying the bills regularly to a few centers, you can go for it.
2. There were so many kinds of projects available in the market. Before, zeroing in on a particular project, please check the sample data carefully. You can assign the sample work to your employees and ask them to enter the maximum sample data you have with you into MS Excel. Now, you can use Filter Command and sort each n every field. Use Advanced Filter to filter the unique values in each field. Make a master excel with these unique values. There are basically two kinds of form filling data entry projects. In one kind of projects, each and every field will have random data (such as Name field...Customer Name, Agent Name etc., e mail addresses etc) in which values were not repeat. There will be numerous varieties of names in this kind of projects. Out of 30 to 40 fields, this kind of data fields will be 6 to 7, which is very hard to cross check them for accuracy. In other kind of works, You will have fields with unique values only (means products, prices etc.) in which you can figure out the odd entries using your master excel. This kind of work can be executed with ease, and there will be a very few chances to be terminated on accuracy grounds.
3. You will be supplied data in JPG, TIFF, GIF and PDF formats. You can not convert the data with ease and accuracy in the first three formats. But, it will be pretty easy if the source data is in text pdf format. All you have to do is to just copy the text directly from the source file and paste the same into the client software.
So, when ever you are about to sign up a project, please do keep in mind these three things, and if you didn't get satisfactory answer, then please do not go for it. Because, while trying to earn a few bucks, you would loss the same, and avoiding such losses can be termed as income, although no such thing is happened.

ReplyDeleteThat was really helpful especially for people who are into startup mode, they would do there due diligence before zeroing any of the Non Voice project. But still i would say that for an startup its really difficult to a come to a conclusion what would be best project to work on and also in selecting the vendor from where they are picking up the project.
ReplyDeleteI had contacted more than 20 Outsourcing consultants/vendors in last couple of months and have not found even a single one which is not asking for the upfront and some security deposit money. My point is if any center is picking up the work from consultant/ vendor why would there be any kind of security money involvement, i understand they can charge the royalty or may be upfront only once the center has started being paid off for there work that too into phases so that center also get the confidence. Moreover at times few consultants have also denied sharing the names of the Centers where the projects is already going or with which they have already dealt with.
i believe there should be some site dedicatedly been updated on real time basis which has all the names of the consultants/ Vendors who had done fraud. though which new comers to this industry can be saved from loosing there hard earned money.
You are doing a great job. Any steps towards the betterment of the community is always appreciated. Thank you for taking out time to pen down your valuable experience and knowledge for the readers. A good amount of knowledge for the starters as well for someone who wants to venture into this vertical of the industry.

ReplyDeleteI had never mentioned, anywhere across my blog posts, that I am involved into oursourcing bpo projects. So, there is no such possibility to work on process. And another interesting thing is, as I had already mentioned earlier, all these projects were based on upfront amount only. You can't find a single project with out upfront amount. Even if you find one, chances are that such work is actually outsourced by another center like you, only to save on effort and manual entry. When you submit the data, they will do the necessary modifications and use it, but deny the payment to you citing accuracy levels. So, its upto you to go after such projects or not.
With better understanding (client instructions), heart-full effort(motivating, training your agents properly), professional ethics, and most importantly with a reliable vendor (reliable certainly doesn't mean genuine), anyone could earn handsome figures pretty easily, though most of these projects were fake and the data is junk, still there is no actual end client to use this processed junk data.

ReplyDeleteMy sincere advice is simple. If you don't have prior experience in this non voice bpo sector, then please don't try to enter into this field. There are several other kinds of businesses to do, which do not require any special qualities. BPO Center isn't just a few rented system, net connection and few employees to do manual data entry. All those projects that you may come across various online forums, sites such as linkedin.com, freelancer.com, etc..etc.. were all fake and the data they provide is junk. They are just like multi-level marketing schemes or jackpots. So, please don't believe the false promises of vendors, who lure you with huge and handsome figures of earnings...
If in case, you are confident enough to manage your center in a professional way, capable of training your agents properly, possess the ability to understand and implement complex conflicting and confusing client instructions, then only think of setting up a bpo. I had already mentioned how to choose a process or vendor in my other articles. So, be careful, do your due diligence....and if everything goes well, you could earn pretty handsome income out of these fake projects.
Try to be among those lucky few 10 to 15% centers who get the billing..but, please don't be among the rest of the 85% centers, whose projects will be terminated in the first month itself, loss their upfront amount apart from facing huge debts in the form of employees salaries, systems rents and other such running expenses.

This will give more confidence for the readers of your blog. I have already signed up for 2 projects and work has started 3 weeks ago. This will make sure that you are putting genuine information and not for earning 'clicks' on your blog.
You should divulge more details about your past work experience with proofs of you getting cheated, because this helps a lot.

Why did you choose to put your comments as an anonymous user rather than disclosing your identity? If you have a problem in doing so, how can you ask some one like me to show the proofs of past work experience and even criticize me that I am doing all this for a few clicks on my blog?

I had started this blog, way back on March, 2011 and since then no one has ever had any issue with the info furnished here. We could find a lot of online info about almost each and every issue, but our due diligence is the key in utilizing that info.

DeleteIt seems you are new to this field of non voice bpo projects. So, please keep in mind the following facts.
1. Whether a project is Genuine or Fake, it really doesn't matter. You should always concentrate on achieving the accuracy levels eligible for billing, by proper preparation... Preparation means, you should understand the client instructions thoroughly, hone your agents skills, particularly in ms office and excel. Always do some random verifications from the processed forms. Please take extra care with those agents who are very poor in their performance. Here, Accuracy doesn't apply that if an agent could type the sample text in Typing Tutor software with 100% accuracy with the your required speed, he/she doesn't give you the same accuracy levels in the live projects. Usually, accuracy means, out of every 100 forms you process, one error of extra or missing dot, comma, or a spelling error will decreases your accuracy by 1%...so, if you submit 4000 forms, 40 errors will make your work 99% accurate.
2. Typically a form can be typed with in 2 mnts (on an average) and the highest payout will be around 15 to 25 rupees.. If you could spare an extra minute it takes a whole of 3 mnts. For an average shift of 8 hours, one hour will be lunch and tea breaks, and another one hour will be wasted for other unnecessary activities...so, you would be left with 6 hours of quality working time that amounts to 360 mnts....at the rate of 3 mnts per form, you can manually process 120 forms pretty easily. You need to adjust the working hours depending upon the workload you receive, number of days to process (TAT) accordingly.
3. There is another alternative.... To convert the live work into Excel format, do the manual qc and rectify the errors then dump the data from excel sheet directly into the client software. But, this can't be done with all the softwares.. and also there is a risk of termination.
Hope this elaborate explanation will help you to succeed in your project..

We don't have desktop access they have blocked it, no other application or files can be opened when software is opened. So far we got only one payment with 3rd slab, but now it became too difficult because previously PDF file was in text format so our people were use to copy paste. But now they have given such a format where we can't select. They have given IMAGE to PDF file so cant select, some how we were able to change it and doing copy paste but while pasting, it is automatically taking different letter, accurate pasting is not happening.
Could you be able to support us in QC or in conversion files.
